Boulder Cemetery

Boulder

The Boulder Cemetery began as other cemeteries in Sublette County, as a place for homesteaders to be interred.  The first grave was not organized or planned, but was a gentlemen who had been killed nearby so was merely buried on the nearest hill which then became the Boulder Cemetery.  It was never under the control or maintenance of a specific entity until it was rolled into the Upper Green River Cemetery District in 1973.  The oldest burial in the Boulder Cemetery is from 1912, there are many burials from families who homesteaded in the Boulder area.
